So you’ve been slaving away planning your wedding, but let me ask you, what sets it apart from other weddings? What are your guests going to remember about it in 20 years time? I’ve gathered some great, and fun ideas to make your wedding extra memorable, from sending the save the dates right up to making the day itself a little different. I hope you enjoy them!
1. Send a memorable Save The Date
Save the date cards are the intro to your ENTIRE wedding. They give people a taste of what the day is going to be like, so colour scheme, fonts, and anything else you think about are important. Personally, I ALWAYS save any Save The Date cards or invites that I receive, so why not make them memorable? They will give your guests a giggle, and let’s face it they’re more likely to remember the date!
2. Take some memorable photographs!
Taking funny photographs will have your guests sharing the pictures with their friends, and they’ll talk about your wedding for a long time to come. You never know, you may even inspire another couple for their wedding day!
3. A nice gesture goes a long way…
Here are just a handful of ideas for surprising your guests! The do not disturb signs are perfect for any guests staying over at your venue, but also good fun for people that just want to take them home. Putting the wedding program onto a fan is wonderful for a summer wedding, or even providing something like sunglasses on a sunny day will not only keep your guests happy, but also help them to actually be able to see your wedding! For an outdoor reception, paper cupcake cases with holes for straws are perfect for keeping bugs out of people’s sweet drinks! Your guests will thank you for them!
4. Give them something to talk about
These are some amazing ideas for a memorable wedding. The lighted tables were created just using a camping lamp and a table cloth, and the Family Tree is attached with fairy lights, or you could use string. Using pictures of your journey as a couple, pictures of your friends and family, not only gives your guests something to look at, but also lets guests feel more involved in the relationship. Check with your venue before doing either of these, but it’s doubtful any would have a problem with it!
5. Provide a fun photo opportunity!
A lace backdrop, a photoframe, an old window – So easy to obtain/create, and yet so effective. Why not have a bucket of props for people to have fun with? For the window, you could provide whiteboard markers and erasers for people to draw their own designs on to take their photograph. It will provide hours of fun for your guests, and it would also be the perfect time for you and your wedding party to have your photos taken.
I hope this post has given you a few fun ideas for your own wedding!
